Musical legends brought back with AI generated music

Depiction of AI generated music

Have you ever wondered what Frank Sinatra singing Radiohead would sound like? Or thought about Kurt Cobain singing Soundgarden? Possibly even entertained the idea of Plankton from Spongebob Squarepants singing Michael Jackson? Of course you have! Well, maybe not that last one, but someone brought it to life anyway. Regardless, AI generated music brings back the incredibly talented musical legends to give you any song cover you could possibly think of.

Let’s get into the groove and dive into the captivating world of AI-generated music, showcasing how it has breathed new life into legendary artists and their iconic hits.

Is Spotify taking down AI generated music?

In recent months, Spotify started cracking down on AI generated music covers. They already removed thousands of tracks created by AI music generator, Boomy, and I expect further review of uploaded songs. This all comes after the major record label, Warner Music Group, flagged various songs for review.

So, keep an ear out for more updates as Spotify tightens the reins on artificially generated music covers. Crazy times, amiright?

Frank Sinatra singing Basket Case

Ol’ Blue Eyes, the embodiment of that classic Las Vegas charm, meets the angsty energy of Green Day’s punk rock anthem “Basket Case.” In an unexpected yet banger of an AI-generated music collaboration brought to you by @breakstuffpod.

I mean, I love both Frank Sinatra and Green Day, but I didn’t think this would be such a banger. Sinatra’s smooth crooner vocals pair really well with the edgy, defiant lyrics of the ‘90s classic. Not to mention, switching up the instrumental to have more of a big band or swing vibe to it was the chef’s kiss I didn’t know “Basket Case” needed.

Elvis singing Take Me To Church

Ladies and gentlemen, the King is in the building! And @elvisenthusiast is responsible!

When I learned that someone created this AI collab, I already knew it was incredible. And how right I was! Elvis covering Hozier’s “Take Me To Church” is the perfect example of something we all knew would sound incredible, but did not fully grasp how real it would sound. Seriously, it’s kind of spooky.

Selena singing My Heart Will Go On

Chills, literal chills. Who would have thought my inner Titanic-obsessed teen would even consider giving a second thought to anything other than Celine Dion’s version of “My Heart Will Go On?” Life’s full of surprises, huh?

The late Selena Quintanilla’s artificially generated version of this love ballad definitely tugs on the heart-strings. Take my advice and grab some tissues for this one… Thank you, @selenaserie!

Michael Jackson singing Die For You

I think we all knew where we were the moment we got the news about the passing of the one and only, Michael Jackson. But lucky for us – legends aren’t bound by earthly rules, so the King of Pop is still vibing with us through AI generated music!

His spin, given to us by @rodry_euuu, on The Weeknd’s “Die For You” is like a time machine back to Micahel’s heyday. Seriously, If you did not know who sang the original, you would swear it’s some secret stash of unreleased MJ gold! And while it might not have hit me as hard as Selena’s AI cover of “My Heart Will Go On” (no, I will not get over it), it elicited an emotional response, nonetheless.

Freddie Mercury singing Careless Whisper

Hold onto those mustaches you beautiful people! @aimusicc brought back the legendary Queen frontman, Freddie Mercury, to take on George Michael’s “Careless Whisper.” It’s like Freddie and George decided to have one last jam session in the sky, and we’re all invited to the party.

Similar to Elvis’s “Take Me To Church” cover, I knew this would sound amazing, but I did not expect it to be THAT good!

AI generated music is bringing back musical legends for one last song and dance. From Sinatra’s unexpected punk flair to Selena’s emotional ballads, the magic of AI is undeniable. The hours of entertainment AI brings – especially when you ask it to generate funny images – makes me excited and hopeful for the future of technology!
