We’re coming down to the wire for GA4 migration and Google just made another huge announcement! Google is auto-migrating every Google Analytics user whether that user has created a GA4 property themselves or not!

How to opt-out of GA4 auto-migration

Don’t lose your website data and avoid having to navigate through a basic, auto-generated GA4 property.

  • Mark complete all 12 steps in GA4

That’s it! Go into your UA admin settings and under GA4 Property Setup Assistant, toggle the “Automatically set up a basic Google Analytics 4 property” off. In addition, mark complete all 12 steps in the GA4 Setup Assistant to avoid Google filling in the gaps.
