How Futurety Spent Covid: Reaction Time

Futurety - COVID reaction time

The chaos of the spring of 2020 changed everything. Planes grounded, cities locked down, restaurants closed, and later, statewide face mask mandates put into place. The global and local economy came to a screeching halt. We went into quarantine for what we thought would be just a few weeks but it soon became the new normal. In all of the madness, it felt like Futurety had gone into chaos as it felt like we lost all sense of direction. However, our quick COVID reaction time didn’t let us go down without a fight.

Going virtual

As a team, we regrouped via Zoom and Google Meets, but we slowly got back to work with the same goals and plans in mind. If anything the pandemic brought us closer together even though we were physically farther apart. While expanding Futurety, we adapted to the landscape and found ways to get involved. We used our data visualization skills to help with understanding COVID-19. From testing and spreading to resource allocation and vaccine rollouts.

As the pandemic continues, I can confidently say that despite the initial fear and chaos and struggles along the way, we have come a long way.

We realized that we are more capable than we previously thought. Our abilities and expertise expanded into areas that we had never even considered. Our COVID reaction time allowed us to become more well-rounded for the future now knowing that we can confidently complete tasks in these new domains.

Understanding and reacting

Some of the best advice I’ve ever received is that you can’t control what happens, but you control 100% of your response to what happens. COVID, quarantine, social and political unrest were all plenty of reasons to throw in the towel. However, I’m a firm believer that when stress is high, it’s time to get busier and that is exactly what we did.

As we look into the future for our business things look bright as we continue to expand and showcase our abilities to new clients. One of the hardest years of our lives let alone our business is now behind us and I believe if we can get through that then we can get through anything. Futurety has since split into two divisions, our data side and our newly recognized marketing division.

At Futurety these days, things are far from quiet here at the office as we continue to earn more contracts and our goals for the future grow more each day. The reason we made it out of 2020 was because of our amazing team, clients and COVID reaction time and we’re forever thankful.
